Everyone said my costume looked amazing, and it was great. But, it was tight in some places which made it hard to wear.
The sleeves on my upper arms were so tight, I couldn't pull it up my arms all the way. I expected the material to be stretchier, since not everyone has arms that are the same size around on the upper and lower parts. That seems to be how this costume was made. Luckily, I could still zip it up in the back (by I, I mean someone else could, since I couldn't lift my arms above my head or reach behind me because of how tight those sleeves were).
The skirt was also fairly tight, even though I measured my waist and hip size before purchasing and bought the size that I was in the upper range of (should've gone a size up I guess). The skirt went on just fine, but because of it's tightness it only fit in one place, and that made it so it couldn't cover my but. I bought a different skirt from amazon that was longer and still worked with the outfit. I was also disappointed that the skirt was pleather, and so somewhat stiff. Her costume on the tv show clearly moves around and flows like a fabric skirt.
The cape was lovely, super high quality material just like the rest of the costume. It was fairly heavy, but not enough to hurt. 2 of the buttons connecting the cape to the leotard did come off at the end of the night, but that's because I was always having to take it off to go to the bathroom (I had to strip of the whole costume off to use the restroom, would have been nice if there was a way to not do that, like a zipper at the bottom. It wouldn't have been that bad if I didn't need help to get the leotard on and off) , and the buttons would unclasp if I sat on the cape. Luckily I can sew new buttons on to fix that.
Finally, the boot covers you have to be careful with. They do not cover your feet completely unless you are a size 6. Also, they were tight on my legs and only come in one size, so if you have larger than average calves, then I would suggest finding a different solution for shoes. Also, you have to let them be scrunched together in some places, if you let the whole thing stretch out completely flat on your leg, it will put too much pressure on them and the zipper with split apart from the bottom. Luckily, it's very simple to fix, so don't freak out if you do this.
I know this seems like a horrible review, but I'm just hoping to inform future buyers. Measure your waist and hip and bust, look at the size chart. If you are in the upper range of a listed size, go up one size. It was mildly uncomfortable to wear my costume, and I was in the upper size for XL. Luckily, it was worth it. Everyone said I looked amazing and it held together at the end of the night. I felt like a badass and I loved how I looked and how it felt to have the cape swishing gently behind me. I hope to wear the costume again once I fix the buttons.
